Plant Life

A body of work featuring curated collections of individual illustrations from travels to botanical gardens, plant houses and green spaces. Collectively, these drawings showcase a range of different styles and mediums, with each natural environment capturing its own plant narrative. Many appear as a series of views from windows or dense tropical scenes. During the process of developing botanical illustrations, I regularly mobilise my studio to immerse myself within nature, working both from life and from my ever-growing archive of photographs.

Flowers

As well as tropical palms and foliage, flowers have a prominent presence within my botanical portfolio as a subject I revisit and illustrate regularly. From form to feature, when discovering new species of flora I symbolise their anatomy by exaggerating intricate detailing through use of pattern, texture and selective colour pallets. This is an on-going creative process that I will always be excited by.
